Wherever You Go Sympathy Card

Let’s face it – sympathy cards are hard to make. No, they don’t require any special card making skills. But the need for a sympathy card means that someone that we care about it experiencing great sadness or loss. It’s hard, as an emotional being, to think of a loved one feeling great sorrow.

Wherever you go sympathy cardThat’s probably the number one reason that we usually don’t make sympathy cards until an event has occurred and we need the card. Who wants to plan ahead for such a sad occasion? We want to make happy cards, am I right? But this is exactly the sort of card that needs to be in your stash.

If you keep the greeting simple, the card could really be classified as “All Occasion,” like today’s example.

The greeting that I chose, “Sending thoughts your way,” could serve many occasions. It just turned out that I needed a sympathy card for a friend whose mother passed away.

For this card, I used the “Wherever You Go” stamp set, and embossed that sunburst image with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I made that pretty sunset background with the new Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter.
