Stamping On Patterned Paper

Do you have a stash of gorgeous patterned paper, but you’re not sure what to do with it?

Here’s an idea for you – stamp on it!

That’s right, you don’t only have to stamp on solid colored cardstock. You can stamp those images right onto your patterned paper! Now you can make us of all that 12 x 12 patterned scrapbook paper that you bought for “something,” but never quite got around to using!

To recreate the look of this card, swipe your Embossing Buddy over a piece of Typeset Designer Series Paper, then stamp your image using Versamark ink – I used the flower image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. Cover the ink with Basic Black Embossing Powder, then heat with your Heat Tool until the powder is melted. Finally, color in your image using a Blender Pen and your choice of colors – I used Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow. To really make the image stand out from the patterned background, I added a shadow of Soft Sky ink around the stamped and embossed image.

When you’re stamping on patterned paper, you have to take care that your card doesn’t get too busy. I chose Typeset and Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper, and Basic Black & Very Vanilla Cardstock, to keep the colors neutral and the focus on my stamped image.

Leave me a comment & tell me how you like to use your stash of patterned paper!
