The 22nd Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is this Friday, February 7, 2014. Are you excited? I am! I found this article on scrapbooking.com about the tradition of Olympic athletes trading and collecting memorabilia for their scrapbooks. There are also quotes from several athletes about their love of scrapbooking that I thought you might enjoy:
What’s your favorite event? Figure skating? Ski jumping? Bobsledding? For me, it’s hockey! I’ve always loved hockey – I remember as a child one year, asking my parents to take me to a professional hockey game for my birthday! So, yeah, I’m excited to see Team USA take the ice!
And speaking of Team USA, who are you rooting for? Of course, I root for Team USA, because it’s my country. But, I am also pleased when the countries of my ancestors win events. For me, that’s mostly Germany and the British Isles. Plus, this household also cheers for the Netherlands, because that’s where my husband’s family is from, and he still has aunts, uncles, and cousins there!
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below and tell me your favorite event, and which country’s team will you be cheering the loudest for?
